Responsible for the operational management and professional leadership of the Children’s physiotherapy service and its staff, with delegated responsibility to ensure that performance and budgetary objectives are met.
To be a highly visible and proactive leader acting as a clinical resource and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of physiotherapy care and service delivery.
To be responsible for exploring current practice, identifying areas for development, and planning the appropriate change using current evidence to evaluate outcomes.
To be responsible for the quality of the environment in which therapeutic interventions are delivered and lead on facilitating changes which improve the patients’ experience.
To play a key operational role and maintain a proactive approach to the management of demand and capacity and activity in order to meet organisational, contractual and service users’ objectives.
Key skills are:
To coordinate service delivery for the Children’s Physiotherapy Service.
To provide line management and managerial oversight of the day to day running of the Children’s Physiotherapy team (managing day to day staff / Human Resources issues, clinical issues and where appropriate resourcing issues).
To be responsible for delivering identified KPIs in service area via the collection and presentation of statistics to Children’s Therapy Lead and the Directorate Management team.
To be responsible for maintaining an overview of the standards of care being delivered across the service, instigating remedial action to improve practice as necessary highlighting and escalating issues as they arise.
Skills/experience: at least 3 years of line management experience; experience of managing a team of physiotherapists is desirable; at least 5 years post qualification experience of paediatric physiotherapy; HCPC registered.Working hours: Full time/Part time. Code: U.016005.B12019
