Job Title: Hand Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist) – Band 7

Job details: Hand Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist) required to start asap for 3 months due to increased demand. Role will include:
Working in closed trauma fracture clinics, out-patient clinics and wards – with post-operative and non-operative patients.
Be able to provide Hand therapy for adults and children with trauma and acquired conditions – including splinting, exercises, functional rehabilitation, scar and oedema management.
Essential Criteria:
• HCPC registered
• Clinical experience in hand therapy – assessment, fabricating a variety of splint and modalities
• Able to clinically reason for simple and more complex trauma and acquired hand and wrist conditions including tendon and nerve repairs, fractures, conditions such as Dupuytren’s, OA, wrist pain, De Quervain’s.
• Ability to autonomously manage a caseload of adults and paediatric patients as well as support junior therapists with clinical reasoning and treatment planning
• Experience in interpreting hand and wrist X-rays
• Provide operational support to the team to enable day to day smooth running of the team.
• Support junior members of the team when required with caseload management and clinical reasoning
Desirable:
• Have worked in UK NHS system in a Hand Therapy at Band 7 level
Working hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week across 4 weekdays
