Childrens
Job Description

Northamptonshire Children’s Trust (NCT) is looking for dedicated social workers to join our forward-thinking Duty and Assessment Team (DAAT). We are committed to ensuring every contact with a child and family is purposeful, and we continually strive to improve our processes, support our staff, and grow talent within the organization.
About the Role:
As a social worker in our Duty and Assessment Team, you will manage caseloads involving Child Protection (CP), Child in Need (CIN), and Looked After Children (LAC) plans. Additionally, you will participate in strategy discussions, facilitate safety planning, and conduct Section 17 Single Assessments and Section 47 enquiries.
You will work with children and families on a short-term basis, addressing their immediate needs following a referral until your cases transfer to other teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for public and professional referrals.
- Work with various agencies to respond to concerns for children at risk of harm.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and ensure appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.
- Collaborate with a supportive and experienced team to make critical decisions for the protection of children.
About You:
We are seeking qualified and registered social workers with ASYE completion, who are passionate about delivering best practices in social care. You should be confident in your decision-making abilities and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to build strength-based relationships with diverse families are essential.
If you are ready to make a positive impact and are committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of children, we would love to hear from you.
