Job Title:  Occupational Therapist – Band 5/6  (Part time)
Area: North West NHS
Salary: £negotiable
Job Type: Locum
Contract length: Ongoing
Job details:  Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team. To start asap.
This team fulfils the functions older adult home treatment and care home liaison. The post holder supports the delivery of the community services through the provision assessment, treatment, planning and delivery of evidence based occupational therapy interventions. They will prioritise planning and delivering interventions for people whose mental health problems (including dementia) have a marked impact on their occupational functioning and who have complex occupational needs. This position requires achieving an appropriate balance between the provision of specialist occupational therapy and taking on shared roles that contribute to the efficient functioning of the team.
You will be required to use your own care to travel between appointments within the community (travel expense re-claimed).
Skills/experience required:
• Detailed knowledge of how older adult mental health problems impact on occupational performance.
• Computer literate
• Specialist knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions using expert level clinical reasoning.
• 1 year post registration experience in mental health
• Use of relevant evidence-based practice
• Clinical experiences in mental health
• Ability to work autonomously and set own and others priorities
• Ability to work as autonomous senior OT within an MDT
• Ability to devise specialist interventions to address occupational dysfunction to improve occupational performance
• Confidently assess and manage clinical risk
• Familiarity with outcome measurement and analysis of outcomes.
• Sophisticated reasoning skills to.
• Ability to build effective working relationships.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Working hours: Flexible (but at 15 hours per week) between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday- Sunday
