Job Title:  Occupational Therapist (1 role) and Occupational Therapy Assistant  (1 role)   
Area:  Central London Social Services
Salary: £negotiable
Job Type: Locum
Contract length: Ongoing          
Job details:  Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapist Assistant required for MHRA patient safety alert reviews. The National Patient Safety Alert set out several actions to be taken to eliminate the risk of injury / death when using cot sides and bed grab rails.
Prescribers are responsible for the review of all such devices they have prescribed.
Approx 1700 clients with bed accessories to be reviewed as directed by the NPA – Implementation required by 1 March 2024.
Working in ASC intermediate care, 1 x locum OT full time, 1 x locum OTA to complete MHRA bedrails and lever reviews. Telephone Triage and assessments and face-to-face assessments
OT to provide triage and complete bedrails face to face assessments/reviews.
OTA to complete bed lever reviews.
Skills and experience required:

  • ASC or communitybased work experience
  • To be responsible for the screening, prioritising, and allocation of cases.
  • To work with other disciplines, providing positive Occupational Therapy support and advice to enable independence and quality of life.
  • To complete assessments or reviews over the phone and face to face.
  • Ordering equipment’s from NRS.
  • To be able to escalate complex cases or refer on to other services.
  • Be able to complete home visits independently.
  • To use relevant IT systems to accurately record activity/ data as appropriate for job role within an agreed timeframe e.g. Mosaic, and NRS.
  • Evidence of working in a MultiDisciplinary Team.
  • Ability to be able to prioritise individual and team caseloads.
  • Evidence of supporting and supervising other staff and students
