Job Title:  Respiratory Physiotherapist – Band 6  (Part time)
Area:  Cambridgeshire NHS

Job details:  Post Covid service. Can work from home for virtual appointments. Will be required to run clinics at Brookfields, Doddington and Healthy living centre. Home visits will be required at times
Assessing and treating patients with long covid, who present with respiratory symptoms in a clinic setting or within their home environment. This will include assessing patients with dysfunctional breathing patterns, hyperventilation syndrome and chronic respiratory conditions. Key aspect of the role includes supporting consultant and GP led clinics; running face to face and virtual rehabilitation programmes; facilitating self-management programmes and participating in weekly MDT, which is a diverse multi-professional gathering of clinicians working across the integrated care system.

  • To provide specialist assessment and management to service users in Post Covid service.
  • To undertake holistic clinical assessments of Post Covid patients with respiratory symptoms in clinics and home environment
  • To contribute to and support assessment clinics in the acute setting (CUH and NWAFT) as required
  • To fully utilise the different mediums of treatment including digital, virtual and face to face.
  • To line manage junior staff within the service
  • To work collaboratively across Primary and Secondary care boundaries
  • Working across all rehab platforms – digital, virtual, and face-to-face to provide rehabilitation and self-management tools to patients.
  • Agreeing goal orientated programmes in conjunction with the patient, his/her family and other professionals involved and planning and implementing appropriate interventions
  • Being actively involved in supporting and delivering presentations at the 10 weeks virtual self- management programme along with members of the MDT
  • Organise and manage own time.
  • To ensure accurate, comprehensive, and up to date clinical records are maintained in accordance with national guidance and professionally agreed criteria within a multidisciplinary context to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Act as patient advocate, providing information and support to facilitate patient choice with regard to care.

Working hours: Part time. 22.5 hours per week. Tuesday, Wednesdays & Thursdays
