North Yorkshire Council is seeking a committed and child-centred Social Worker to join our frontline Child Protection Assessment Team. This role is crucial in safeguarding children and young people, ensuring timely and robust assessments, and supporting families through early intervention and statutory involvement. You will be part of a supportive, multi-agency environment focused on delivering outstanding outcomes for children across North Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake statutory Child and Family Assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989.
Carry out child protection enquiries, assess risk, and develop effective safety and intervention plans.
Work closely with children, families, and partner agencies to gather information and ensure the child’s voice is central to all decision-making.
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, legal proceedings, and statutory reviews.
Manage a varied caseload within statutory timeframes, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with council policies and safeguarding legislation.
