Job Title:  Senior Occupational Therapist (Team Leader) – Band 7

Job details:  JD available on request: Occupational Therapy is the assessment and treatment of people with disabilities arising from trauma, disease or age-related conditions. This may result in a change in their ability to carry out everyday tasks in self-care, productivity, and leisure. The Occupational Therapist adopts a client centred, holistic approach working in partnership with the individual to identify their needs, maximise their independence and enable them to return to their own environments e.g. home, work, education with the necessary equipment, support and resources.
To provide an efficiently administered and professionally competent Occupational Therapy Service to patients of the University Hospital Birmingham, NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will provide clinical skills to a high standard for individuals referred within the specialty and demonstrate the competence of an experienced practitioner.
Where indicated, the post-holder will work in accordance with the detail set out in the Post Profile to reflect particular areas of clinical specialty. The post-holder will be required to work with complex conditions, be able to apply OT intervention skills demonstrating detailed knowledge and supervise others with the team. The post holder works in co-operation with other members of the multi professional team to deliver a quality, patient centred assessment and therapy service to people referred to Occupational Therapy.
The Senior Occupational Therapist (Team Leader) is responsible to the Occupational Therapy Head of Service for service provision, clinical practice, and professional issues.
