Job details:  The Adults Occupational Therapist will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions for adult patients with a range of physical, mental, and social challenges. The role involves working collaboratively with patients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team to support patients in achieving greater independence and improving their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' functional abilities, occupational needs, and environmental factors.
  • Develop and implement personalised treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient-centred goals.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing patients' abilities in activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and other meaningful activities.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, and carers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home modifications to promote independence.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Advise on and facilitate the provision of assistive devices and adaptive technology to support patient independence.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and care planning sessions.
  • Stay informed about current best practices in occupational therapy and integrate new techniques into patient care where appropriate.
